B. V. Balasai is the son of famous flautist Shri B. Sudarsana Rao.
Born in a family of rich musical tradition, Balasai received his initial
training from his father. After years of arduous and dedicated
training under the guidance of C. G. Venkatesh and Dr. P. Sitaram,
Balasai has lent his own artistic and innovative creations on the
wood-wind instrument. As a soloist he has performed in many
prestigious sabhas and organizations in India.

Balasai is multifaceted and his talents expand beyond carnatic
music to Hindustani classical and Western classical key flute. He
has composed music and has directed music for several dance
ballets and devotional albums.

He is an internationally acclaimed artist and has travelled
extensively to countries such as USA, Europe, Russia, Australia
and Canada, and as part of Guru Kaaraikudi Mani’s entourage.

As a versatile artist with a fine professional record on the
platform, displaying the maturity, fluency and the power of a
veteran, Balasai has inspired confidence in the hearts of music
lovers who fear for the future of classical music.
